Newcomers - Welcome!

We are glad you are here! Newcomers are always welcome at All Souls. The social hour after every Sunday morning service is a great way to get to know us. This is a casual time to chat with everyone and get your questions answered. You'll notice that some people wear blue nametags. These people are especially knowledgeable about our community, but feel free to ask anyone.

There are all sorts of ways to be a part of All Souls besides Sunday morning services. See the "News & Events" page for activities that you may want to attend. Or take a look at the "Get Involved" page for some of the ongoing groups you may want to participate in. And take a look at the "Contact Us" page for phone and email listings.

We also have a wealth of information available in the front entryway and in the social hall.

However you choose to interact, you will always feel welcome here at All Souls.

Things you might want to know

___________________
Our Sunday services and religious education classes begin at 10:30 am. (9:30 am during the summer with no classes)

Dress at our services is informal. Visitors will feel comfortable in business-casual or contemporary attire.

Because some of our members are sensitive/allergic to chemical scents, the use of strong perfumes and colognes is discouraged. Thanks for your consideration.

We have a choir of approximately 10 people who generally sound like more than that. Rehearsal is at 9:00 on Sunday mornings if you want to join.

What About Spirituality?

Have you been considering or using self-descriptions such as the statement "I am spiritual, not religious" or checking "none" on a religious affiliation survey?

You may still be yearning for a deeper spiritual life, a deeper relationship with the universe, or an integrity to your religious path that allows you to engage on your own terms towards ongoing spiritual growth. This is best accomplished amongst other seekers who are committed to an honest search for truth and meaning. These other seekers must be supportive without being coercive. They must be open to new truths. And, they must not fear doubt. Only doubt can shine truth on the path. And, the right path has nothing to fear from the light of truth.

The community at All Souls in which the diverse voices of seekers can be heard and their questions can be asked would challenge many. But it so enriches us.

The descriptions, "spiritual" and "religious" can be cherished separately or together with others in an open atmosphere of dialogue and discovery.

We Take Diversity Pretty Seriously

One of our ministries calls us to fight the oppression of the LGBT community by "Standing on the Side of Love".

This photo shows us holding Valentine's Day cards made by our Religious Education students. This was part of a national event by the Standing on the Side of Love Campaign called "Re-Imagining Valentine's Day."

Standing on the Side of Love is a campaign sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association and promotes respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We believe that no person of any immigrant status, race, religion, gender and sexual orientation, ability level, or political view should be dehumanized through acts of exclusion, oppression, or violence.
